Beaker & Gray was the place to be on Thursday, July 27th. The Whiskey & Blends event featured an exclusive Uncle Nearest whiskey liquor and bites menu. Uncle Nearest Whiskey is an award-winning Tennessee whiskey that was founded by Fawn Weaver, the first African-American woman to own a major whiskey distillery. It is the first whiskey to honor the legacy of the first African-American master distiller, Nearest Green. Known for its smooth taste it was no surprise that guests at the event were eager to get their hands on a taste of this exclusive whiskey menu. The night featured two signature cocktails — the Self Born Old Fashioned and Uncle Buck — as well as tantalizing popcorn chicken that was smoked in whiskey bbq and buttermilk ranch, served with pickles. The falafel option included Nashville hot sauce, yuzu kosho tzatziki, and a pickled fresno pepper. It was an evening of great drinks, delicious food, and memorable music. Attendees found a perfect escape from the everyday, and it’s safe to say they were sipping their way through a night of whiskey bliss.
